Once your teeth are clean, he will apply polish to restore the sheen to your smile. Dr. Seider will utilize a ultrasonic scaler, which is more effective than traditional hand tools, to remove the tartar build up. The ultrasonic scaler produces microscopic bubbles that break up the plaque and tartar deposits without damaging healthy tooth enamel to thoroughly clear your teeth.

In some cases, patients may experience gum disease, also known as “periodontitis” or “periodontal disease,” which is the leading cause of tooth loss in American adults. Regular brushing and flossing are not enough to treat gum disease. Patients require a thorough cleaning procedure known as scaling and root planning.
